Worlds Of Curiosity

MINECRAFT : WORLDS OF CURIOSITY

Film Type: Astronomy

Suitable for school years 3+

Film length: 15 mins

Based on the game Minecraft, explore the scientific consequences of alternative versions of Earth via “what if?” questions.

For example, 'What would it be like to live on an Earth with no Moon?'; or 'What if the Earth were twice its current size?'; or 'What if Earth was tilted on its side (like Uranus)?' - as well as emerging astronomy enquires like 'What would it take to terraform Mars?', or 'How do we mine asteroids?'

Join Mateo and Dr Alicia Woods as they explore how our lives would be different on these imaginary Earths. They consider hypothetical planets that could exist and marvel at the very strange worlds astronomers have discovered beyond our Solar System.

Our school Planetarium show also includes a guided ‘What’s in the sky tonight’ presentation and a Solar System walkthrough covering relevant aspects of the NSW curriculum.
